While installing my SHOSHOP Can and while underhood i tested the throttle to make sure all was well with the MAF and Can and i noticed my seconderies werent moving they must be stuck on open because i have plenty of power, what gives?

I installed the intake not to long ago, i did have everything apart for painting and installing ported runners, and i did check them and they were working on install, what has gone wrong here, i check the vaccum lines. :bonk:

PS:The 80 Pro-Flow fits perfectly well with the carbon fiber CAN so no more heat soak. ;)

Tony,

Check to make sure they're plugged in. Its obvious, but I've done it. also, try switching the vacuum lines on the solenoid (where the wires plug in). If they are backwards, you can get them stuck open.

Right on the money Chris, i switched them and now they work.

What harm if any would that do being left like that, because on second gear roll that sucker was a rocket. :)

Back in Michigan ... again.
Well a friend of mine drove his 92 that way for like three months before he finally figured out the hoses were switched. No harm done to his SHO which is still eating rice at 167k so I wouldn't be concerned. I bet it sounded pretty mean down low with the secondaries open :thumb: Too bad there's such a low end power loss.

When you say solenoid do you mean the little black canister on the back of the intake? Ive taken the intake apart many times but Im having a mental block as to what part you switched the vacuum line on.

Tony,

That is the one way valve and vacuum storage cylinder. If the valve was working properly and was plugged in backwards, it wouldn't allow vacuum through to close the secondaries. I doubt you caused any serious damage to anything. Your cars' computer was probably going nuts try to keep the air /fuel mixture correct with all that air but no harm no foul.
