ok, I was getting on it a little and when I shifted form 2nd gear to 3rd gear my hand just keep going and hit my cd player, no sound form the trany and the clutch feels fine. so could it be the linkage? I have only 2nd gear, no nutral our anything. anyone know what kind of job it is to change the linkage?

also is there any sho owners in the Quad Cities?

I would think so. Look under your car with a flashlight. you see anything hanging down right behind where your oil pan is?

My guess is the shift rod under the car came loose. I had the same problem with a shift cable a couple years ago, and that's how it happened...I went to shift into 2nd gear, and the shifter just went limp.

BTW, you only need to hit the Submit button once. :)

If it's a cable shifter, it will be the small piece of plastic at the bottom of the shifter. The bottom of the shifter has a metal ball that snaps into a plastic fitting. If this is the case, you can take off the boot and see it very easily.

smokesho52, please edit the other two instances of this topic and select the "delete" box. Enough clutter.
