I'm thinking it may be a bad alternator. I'll try to explain the best I can. It all started when my main cooling fan would not turn off when I shut off the car. Then, when I unplugged the fan so it would not drain the battery the car would not start. Not a big deal. But, when I plug the fan in the fan starts running and the car will start. Worked fine for a **** switch. Anyway, today, after two days of using the previous method, on the way to work, my battery light and Low Coolant light came on. Also, the Air Bag light was flashing and the Check Engine light was flashing yesterday. Now, after work, the only light on was the Battery light. I had the battery checked and it is fine. Just needs to be charged they tell me. Could this all be caused by the Alternator? :omgsho:

A bad alternator can cause many weird problems. Have you checked the voltage while it was running. When a car is running under 12 volts it will do weird things, however I don't believe that is causing your coolant fan to stay on. I am not saying you don't have a bad alternator, you just may have a few problems aside from a bad alternator.

Berg, I will be in your area tomorrow, but will be short on time, so I can not offer to swap it out, but if I have a good alty laying around, I will bring it with me.
