Stock boost 12 psi?

Is stock boost 12 psi? I just received my SCT tuner to do my tune and it says that I'm currently maxing out at 8 psi. I haven't loaded the tune yet.

I think the most I saw stock was 10.
The weather and outside temp has a lot to do with boost.
The torque based calculations that the ecu makes only makes as much boost as needed to hit the number it's looking for.

I have stock datalogs showing mine hitting 12psi during a shift at peak.... I will post them in a bit... But like what was posted earlier...these cars don't target boost for power... It's the other way around... You target a particular load and the car does what it needs to get there...it's a pretty neat way to do things...so boost will vary depending on driving conditions...

I.E. when it's cold out and the air is denser you may use less boost. In the summer when the air is hot and less dense you may require more boost to produce the power you need... At least that's how it works out in my mind..

I'm seeing 12-13 psi max with my livernois stage 4 plus time

Here is a stock datalog showing spikes over 12psi.. and close to 12psi in second gear.. then a bigger spike at 13.1 psi in third... this was a stock tune mind you..I have since had more work done, and this was also running a strategy even the dealership I went to had never seen.. this car was produced in August of 2009 and until I took it in had never had a strategy update.

Did you have a boost leak or a faulty wastegate at any point?

Negative, no issue. Still have the same turbos and piping setup and tuned just fine...

I have had 3 different tuners work my car, one couldn't get a good tune on it, one mentioned I should get a strategy update since my car behaves different, and one didn't care cause they upgrade the factory code anyway...


Point being my stock baseline maybe different than some...
