Low boost
IMG 5001
My gh tuned 2011 sho has way less boost all of a sudden. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it happened but i have a bov to air and a gh tune with the map sensor but both of those had been working fine previously. I first realized i had low boost when i lined up next to a mazda 3 and he made me look like a camry (it wasn’t even close). The car sometimes gives what feels like 30% boost but others 60% of the boost it varies. I go to do a pull and it just doesn’t build boost. My only idea is the bov i didn’t vent has a broken o-ring because there is oil residue around it even tho it should be recirculating. also the turbos are way more quiet in pulls. Any ideas? thanks!

Check the 3 hoses on the boost control solenoid. Check the diaphragm on the bov. Check the linkage on the wastegates for a missing e-clip.

Yep. I had one come off and it stuck the BOV wide open. Didn't set any codes on mine though. Get some small fuel line clamps and secure them on the solenoid. Over time they get stretched and more loose than my ex girlfriend on tequila Saturday.

Check and see if the wastegates/actuators on the turbos are loose in that case.
i couldn’t get a chance to see the wastegate actuators but i changed my car back to the stock map sensor and the stock tune. i only drove it for a few pulls but i couldn’t really tell if that was it. the code didn’t come up but before the code took a while to pop up so i don’t know. also i did a bov to air 10months ago to my front bov and as expected there is some oil coating around it, my concern is that the bov next to the firewall has oil residue like the front one even though it should be still connected.

The oil residue doesn't typically hurt anything just looks like crap. If you're VTA modded you'd usually hear it hiss when you floor it if it was a BOV issue. The valves are after the sensors and if the boost is escaping there you wouldn't (typically, in my experience) have a code. So this is pointing to either a different leak location or an issue with the chargers. Rhe car is expecting to see a certain amount of boost at the manifold and not getting it for some reason. I'd smoke test it.
