The only way that belt could have slipped is if the tension weren't right since it has nice deep cogs. You don't indicate if you have an ATX or an MTX, but the MTX's timing belt tensioner has to be secured in the tensioned position after putting the belt in there. If you didn't lock that setscrew down, that would explain why your belt jumped time. I don't know if the ATX's tensioner requires the same. If an ATX's belt jumped like that, I would suspect that the tensioner had relaxed and allowed the belt to slacken.
