I have a 95 ATX. The power steering works fine except: When it has been driven for a while, and i try to turn the wheels without the car moving, like tryin to park or doin a three point turn. Anyways it feels like I am i my ole 68 F-250 without any powersterring. As soon as it gets gas it turns easier, it is fine when moving just when i have to turn it without car in motion. When the car is cold, it doesn't do this..it will turn fine, without moving the car at all. I don't know what VAPS is or if I have it..what is it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

I've noticed that too on my 95 ATX. I hope someone chimes in soon. Do you perhaps have those underdrive pullies? Maybe the pump is getting weak? Checked the P/S level? Sorry I can't really help?

I just did the procedure to flush the air out on my 95 ATX last weekend, didn't fix it completely but made a huge difference. I'm going to do it again tommorow and see if it has any more. I thought my pump was going bad. Mabye try flushing it first. I flushed mine a few months ago at about 110k, but getting the air out made the most difference, i just jacked up the front of the car and turned the wheels lock to lock a bunch of times, holding at the lock for a few seconds. When I was done there was a bunch of little bubles in my resevoir.
