Is it a common characteristic of the SHO's to have hard starting in cold weather. I have a 95 ATX that lately has not started up as quickly as it used too. What is strange about it is that it will start normaly when it has sat overnight, but if for example I drive to work and then a few hours later start it again to go out to lunch it will crank for a few seconds more than usual. The CID and CPS were replaced just a while ago so I know that is not the cause. It has 67K on it and I have not yet performed a 60K Spark Plug replacement... Could that cause such starting issues. How much of an increase in performance should I expect with the 60k, are the plugs pretty fowled by this time? I am noticing that the car doesn't seem as pepy as I thought it should be, will replacing the plugs help restore its peppiness?

PLugs and a fuel filter are a good place to start. Does the engine crank slower or does it just have extended crank times? If longer crank times could be a restricted fuel filter or failing fuel pump. eek!

Performing the valve adjustment, replacing plugs and wires, etc will not "increase" performance. It has the great potential to restore lost performance, however.

Cold starting is not characteristic of the SHO engines. Try a new fuel filter, pressure test the fuel system, and perform overdue ignition system maintenance.
