Hi all,

I just put a new engine into my 1992 SHO (49stater- No EGR) After everything is installed the car will not start, I think it has no spark but have been unable to check by myself, the plugs are wet though.

I changed the DIS, CID, ICRM, and coil pack. still everything is working (except my Eatc on but not switching between vents etc and my stereo amps went out, but I recently added the sub box and sub amp so it may not be related)

The only thing I can think of is while I was doing the swap I removed all the wiring and painted my engine Bay. I think I mixed up the wiring harnesses with a California Car (EGR) either main, firewall, harness or both. I have boxes of spare parts and did not think there was a difference or that it would matter. Now I wonder..

Any Ideas? :thank you:

When you turn the car to run, does the check engine light come on and is it bright or dim? Also, does it stay lit while cranking?

Did you hook up the accessory ground from the battery post to the frame? Try running a temporary ground wire from a DIS lower bolt to battery negative.

I have checked the grounds and everything is hooked up good there.

So far I have changed the computer, ICRM, IAC, DIS, MAF, coil and capacitor,

It has spark so we ae thinking a bad CPS (intermittent), or the timing is off, Maybe the previous builder did not use the pins on the cam pulleys. I'm going to pull it all apart tomorrow and change the CPS and check timing.

Thanks for the help guys, I will try a direct ground on the DIS and see if there is luck there, otherwise it's gonna be a side teardown

Down to the basics.....Timing. alignment of pulleys, and CPS.

Sounds like DIS. Once I didnt install the ground cable to the manifold and the car still started, just ran like crap. Make sure you hear your fuel pump prime whe you turn you key to start. If so, ole sparky seems to be your problem.
