I think my starter is going out, sometimes it makes a wierd noise when i try to start it and won't start for a couple of cranks. Oh, and if it is how much would one cost(Gen 1), and would it be that hard of a thing to do yourself. Thanks

what kind of "wierd noise"? shrug

Can you describe it?
and does it crank fast or slow?

Anyhow...

Starter motors rarely actually die... the majority of the time they get gummed up with sludge, or the bearings go to dust. wink

You could pull it and check it out first hand... or you could just buy a new/rebuilt starter.

Use the [SEARCH] feature of the forum. There was a very recent thread about starters... where to buy and for how much.
