started polishing my intake, question for those that have done this

It would go faster and your fingers wouldn't hurt as much.

You can also polish the tanks with a buffing wheel on a bench grinder and polishing rouge. A friend of mine polished a set of tanks this way and it came out great.

30 bucks at home depot for a sander, i have the cross over tube on the car and its perfect

you'll see what a powersander can do in a few weeks time

thats only like a finish restorer, i'd buff it w/ compound first then use that for keeping it look nice

Be mindfull of the fact that each polishing compound has a different grit size, so if you start with red rouge and then do another piece with white rouge, the pieces will have a different gloss to them. I used Flitz on a small piece of my intake and I had to have the whole intake "touched up" to get a single gloss finnish again.

I think you still need to do alittle bit more sanding ... this is 2 weeks worth of work.

Or you could have an older brother that polishes on the side (like me). Between him and me, we did mine in 4-1/2 hours. Complete disassemble, take old finish off (sand blast), polish using power buffers, bolt back on. Of course, the 4.5 hours was just for the sandblast/polish work. How much to have you do just my runners?

Well i really dont have the time now but i have found a pro guy that does it full time and on the side on his spare time ... he has redone my valve cover and a bunch of small parts that i needed, I will post pictures later tonight so you can see the quality he lives in Villa Park, IL.

I have the runners available if you want them ( i gotta reshine them ) ... I will be selling them together with some other sho parts like some SHOSHOP HD subframe bushings My 18's, Slicers and other stuff. Look in the classifieds, i will post stuff for sale there in a couple of days.
