Today I started to wrap all the chrome in 3m 2080 gloss black vinyl. I love how it is turning out so far and makes the car look much more aggressive. I’m new to vinyl wrap but it seems the more time and attention to detail you put into it the better it turns out. The curves are the hardest part to do but using a heat gun definitely makes it easier. I’ll try to get some better pics in the daylight. Also debating if I should do the front grille as well because I like how the chrome looks on it but it wouldn’t match anything else. Put pics of before for comparison

looks great! How much time would you say you have invested so far? Any chance of doing a video for the other side?
I would say about three hours into it. However most of it was prep work, just like anything. Once you gather everything and have the strips you need it’s pretty straightforward. Sure, I could do a video for the other side, I’ll probably get to it in the next few days if not today

Thank you for sharing, Alex! Been thinking about doing the same to mine, however, typically got this type work done by my local tint guy.

But, sounds like a nice Saturday afternoon project..........with much appreciation to you. Respect! .:bowrofl:

What was the size of the tape you used? The big piece roll or the smaller type of roll like a 2 inch x 20 ft or whatever the sizes are?

This looks great! I have been toying with this idea for awhile. I am debating between blacking it all out or using Plum Crazy colored vinyl. I'm also trying to decide if the black roof will look good. Seeing this definitely pushes me towards doing at least the chrome myself.

Bought the larger roll, forget what size it was but I probably mention it in the video. The reason I didn't buy the 2 inch strip is because if you want to do a larger area (I did my steering wheel with it too) you can't go bigger than 2 inches. I ended up cutting 2inch strips for the chrome trim though. Also with the front grille the 2inch strip won't be wide enough.

Plum crazy is definitely one of my favorite colors. You can definitely do it yourself, even if you mess a strip up all you have to do is peel it off. The first few tries might be difficult but once you get a feel for the vinyl it gets easier.

How has it held up?

My EPP intake and pipes are getting done now. I'm going to do some of the interior, just not sure how much I can do outside before it screams Ricer.
