Spring Run

OK it's time to decide when and where the Spring Run will take place this May.

I personaly believe it should be a vote taken by all lsshoc members to where the Run will take place. Many have put their input in, some voting for Austin, some voting for a repeat of Kerreville, and something about a track event.

I know I am just one vote, but I know my ATX isn't a race car so I would feel better not going to a race track. Plus a race track will expect us all to sign liability releases and it will constist of the club coming up with some cash for the track. In this days economy it may end up costing some members to much money to participate. I have heard that Motorsports Ranch expects all participants wear helmets that drive on their track. I don't own a helmet and a decent one ain't cheep, and I don't think any track will supply them (I maybe wrong).

The SVT club in Dallas are talking about renting Enis for a Day in May and before I try to commit the DFW-SHO club to participate it would be nice to know when the Spring Run date is so I can coordinate the calender.

At dfw_sho yahoo group there is a calender that we can post event dates and a description of the event. So whom ever is the guy that gets to decide please feel free to post the event there.

So dates are very important issue right now. So can someone or everybody get together now and deside a date please. thumbs_u

I nominate 5-10 or 5-17. the 24th is memorial day weekend, Personally either are good for me.

Looks like we're still trying to decide What and where our spring event is going to take place.

I really hope I didn't rain on anyone's parade, just trying to keep all options open.

If there is enough interest in a track event, perhaps we could get someone with some knowledge of a local (Texas) track that we could use. The track I had in mind was difficult to get ahold of, and is in the middle of construction/rebuild.

dont forget about ford fun weekend in houston. i think that is may 2-4, but dont hold me to that. i know i'll be going to that, i dunno about any of you guys...

All of May is awful for me, except the last weekend. If you decide to run during the first 3 weekends, sadly I'll have to pass.

Here's a thought, if we were to run from Kerrville into SA we could end up at the drag strip, especially on a Sunday or Saturday, there is racing on either of these days so the track is open, $15.00 to race or $10.00 to watch.

Since it seems people get the drag race bug out of them during the run so I guess that doesn't really matter.

I really liked the Austin run and the Oasis has a cool view from the deck.

If I can make it I'll be in the SVTF, since I have vowed to abstain from running the SHO hard until I get this cam situation rectified. Don't worry about losing me, I ran the Austin run with a GenI and had no trouble keeping right on him the whole time, in fact, I had to slow down for him in the twisties... oh_my boink

I'll put a vote in for Austin. Damn I wish I could pay off this credit card debt faster, I'd be the one kicking everyone's butt into gear. Don't give up on us Don, we're just being difficult. Hopefully a late May event would be possible, I might be able to afford by then.
