Finally got my speedo needle to stop shaking with a new upper speedo cable. Now that it has stop shaking it looks as if the speedo is reading high, but since I have never owned this car when the speedo wasn’t shaking I would like to know what speeds the sho is at when the tach says 2000rpm in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Thanks.

Wait, it's not supposed to shake?!? :bonk:

I'm taking my SHO for a ride tomorrow, I'll let you know.

On the way to work this morning, here's what mine read. 12, 22, 32, 42, 57 in first through fifth respectively. This could be off by one mile or so, since the speedo has three marks between each 10mph, it doesn't divide out equally like the four on the the tach. My SHO is a stock 1990 3.0.

I dont recall of the top of my head but i do know that in mine, 2nd gear went 10 mph per 1k rpms until around 5k... Then it was off a little. 2k in 2nd is around 20 for me.

Tire diameter = (mph x gear ratio x 336) / Rpm

Gear ratio = (rpm x tire diameter) / Mph x 336

Mph = (rpm x tire diameter) / Gear ratio x 336

Rpm = (mph x gear ratio x 336) / Tire diameter
