Speedo screaming

I did a search for the how to disconnect the cable from the back of the speedometer and did not see anything specifically about disconnecting it. I have the dash all a part and don't just want to start pulling and tugging. I am hoping some machine oil will quiet it down. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Aaron!

Squeee/pinch the connector to release it from the spedometer head.

You have to squeeze the correct portion to release. Just keep rotating around the connector until you get it.

You're going to swear and cuss pretty bad unless you get under the hood and disconnect the upper cable from the lower cable. It will make the job so much easier because you can pull the cluster out farther. Otherwise you get scraped wrists and swear alot. Just make sure you don't pull the cable through the firewall.
