My speed odometer stops working sometimes and i have to shut the engine off and back on again before it will work again. My rpm display seem to work most of the time even when my mph gauge does not, also my counter for distance does not work all the time either. My car has 118xxx miles on it but it is off by at least 50 miles. What could be causing this? Do i need a new speed odmeter? I have check the cabes around the throttle and neutral safety switch and they seem to be fine. Has anyone else had problems like this?

Check the connector to the ABS unit. It's located right in front of the battery, which you might want to remove to make accessing the connector easier. It could be loose, or there may be contaminants which have gotten into the connector.
