Anyone had any issue with this clutch?
I'll be using a stock flywheel with this.
The car is a summer daily driver, but I don't mind heavy clutch. I already have a high performance clutch on my truck, so I'm used to it.

This isn't the only place it was cracked.

I am currently using a Southbend Stage 3. Been working great so far for spirited street driving and a number of track days. Had a couple of shifting issues last year (or maybe it was the year before) but it ended up being a couple of small pieces of anarobic sealeant that decided to not be so anarobic and partially block some of the lubricating holes in the trans.......not the clutch.

I had a spec pressure plate crack with less than 1k miles.
They refused to warranty it and told me it was my fault because I must have missed a high rpm shift. I refuse to purchase anything from them and share my story with anyone considering something from them.

I've heard lots of bad stories about Spec. I have a stage II in my 91 with just over 10K on it since installed. Bought it used with about 10K already on it from a forum member. No issues so far. Thats my only experience with them so far though.

Buy a Southend product, any southbend product and be happy. I had a Stage III in my S/C car. Held the power great, was not a on off type clutch and had a VERY nice pedal.

I put a SPEC Stage 2 in my '00 Eclipse GT when my 1st motor went. I had 1,100 miles on it and the tranny blew. Upon taking everything apart I realized it was the clutch that caused the transmission to go. The whole clutch was messed up! The pressure plate was cracked as well as lots of other things. My advice... STAY AWAY!

crazy_canadian: Go with a LUK brand clutch from RCM and use the money you save to buy a ceramic throw out bearing.

I had a spec stage 3 (the one with the puck style disc.it was terrible up to the day it exploded. I then bought a spec stage 3plus. That clutch was $650. and worth every penny! Very smooth engagement no chatter in reverse light pedal, easy to drive in traffic. I can't say enough good things about the spec stage 3 PLUS. It had no problem with a shot of nitrous either.
