I decided to change my plugs and when I pulled the wire connector out...I see oil all over the rubber boots
Is this not good?
I have noticed sluggish perfromance from a stop.
What's my next course of action?

NO! That is not good it means you need to change your valve cover gaskets and you may also have to change your spark plug wires as well.I recommend changing your wires at the same time since you will already be in their with the intake off changing your valve cover gaskets. But that is all up to you depending on the shape your old ones are in and however many miles they have on them.I believe the part number for the valve cover gaskets is VS50378R through auto zone they run about 80 bucks. thumbs_u

Oil on the spark plug boots means the plug well seals are leaking. And no, this is not good, and it will cause the sluggish performance. New plug tube seals and plug wires are in order. Oh...and you can change the valve cover gaskets when you do the plug well seals.

OK....so the plug wires and tube seals are availiable from autozone also? Do i request sepcial ones? Part #'s.
Is this a big job to the valve cover gaskets?
Everything looks to be acccessible as far as nuts and bolts.
And if I do all of this...Ill notice big time improvements?

Thanks guys

Get the Motorcraft AGSP32PP plugs for $3.99 ea. and the Motorcraft WR-4033 wires (also fits 3.2L) from FordPartsNetwork.com for $83.99. Get the Fel-Pro VS50378R seal set (2 valve cover seals and 6 plug well seals) from AutoZone.com for $71.99. I have emailed you a detailed procedure for the valve gapping that also icludes the removal of the intake and valve covers. See if that is something you want to try.

Anthony, you have mail.

Vito117, It takes me about 8 hours to do all that is described in the procedure. That includes about 2 hours of valve gapping and at least an hour and a half of head port, intake and valve cover cleaning. But then, I have done this a few times. I would allow yourself a couple of days. Start early on a Saturday morning to make sure that you have enough time to get it back together before Monday.
