Spark Plug Wires

Maybe I suck at using the search function, but I didn't find any straightforward threads on this topic:
What plug wires should I go with? There are a handful to choose from, and if looking at RockAuto.com, the prices between brands varies from $25 to $144.

I think I currently have ACDelco wires on my car, but two of them broke from moving them around and such, and have been replaced with random wires. It's time for new wires, especially now that I'm running boost (you know, because when I had nitrous, good plug wires didn't matter )

The three I'm looking for the most feedback on:
ACDelco: $33.79
Motorcraft: $144.79
Bosch: $85.79

Has anyone noticed a difference, or had problems with any certain brands?

I've had good luck with the AC Delco wires. I bought my last set from RCM, IIRC around $50. I would make sure that the ones RA lists for $33.79 are indeed SHO wires. Sometimes they just list all the wiresets they have for that particular year/model, and detail which engine they fit in the description.

I have the AC Delco wires as well... can't complain as they were much better than the old stockers on my car. I think I paid almost $60 for the set at my local AC Delco distributor.

I would go with the Motorcraft. They will probably seat the best. I had aftermarket BWD wires and they let water inside the sparkplug channels.

I would get the Motorcraft wires from www.fastpartsnetwork.com (they have a link on the home page) - they sell the Motorcraft wires for $120....

I bought Accels, not installed yet though so I can't tell you much about them. Just one more alternative though.

I recently installed the AC Delco and they fit and look perfect ('93 3.2 atx) and seem equivalent to OEM.

At the cost, you could install them and if you aren't satisfied, you haven't wasted much.

Thanks for the input gang. I'll probably just go with the ACDelco wires, mostly because I'm still in school and don't have a lot of money.

I have Taylor 10.4mm wires. They're thicker than I need, but they eliminated my crossfire/arcing problem.
The only problem now is that some smog shops can't pick up a signal (for RPM) through the insulation. I found a shop that gets RPM a different way, so it's not a problem anymore. I used to have to find 1 regular wire to plug in for smog tests.

I just installed the Delco wires with the Motorcraft "fine wire" plugs. Got them both from RCM for less that $80. My SHO has almost 190k and runs like she's brand new.

Not that it matters much (keep the discussion going, gang!) but I'm intentionally steering AWAY from ACDelcos. It seems that they fit TOO perfectly. When I went to remove the old ones (and I'm not positive that they are ACDelcos) they fell apart and wanted to shatter when I grabbed them with pliers. They were just really in there. Maybe it's from extra heat of a blower, or the extra weather they were submitted to with the hole in the hood, but I'm going to bite the bullet and get Motorcraft wires. I put on some old wierd ones that my Dad had lying around, but they work for now.

I had a set of motorcraft wires break within 24hrs of install. But chances are mine were just faulty.

If they're breaking where it clips onto the spark plug tip, try putting some grease when installing. If it's dry, the wire will snap right out of the clip when you remove it.

After buying and using both Motorcraft OEM and the ACDelco wires, Im NEVER wasting my hard earned money on the Motorcaft wires again.

The AC Delcos are identical to OEM, fit, finish, and function, yet cost less than $40

I'm running those and have been very happy with them so far. I think they are better than the Motorcraft wires cause they look better, thicker, and cheaper

Agreed. I replaced my factory set with ACDelcos, and they were so close to identical that I suspect they are made by the same manufacturer, but just branded differently.

I presently have nearly 50k on this wireset, with no problems, good sealing, and easy removal.

can any hp gaind come from the 8mm plug wires? SPmotorsports.com sells a 8.5mm wire.
