I haven't but others have. The general consensus is to go with the stock Motorcraft double platinum plugs and the Motorcraft wires. Fordpartsnetwork http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com has the cheapest price for the wires (and great service!) and they have almost the cheapest price for the plugs, about $3.99 each (or is it $3.79?). It seems like the aftermarket plugs never have the right plug height which results in poor ignition wire boot sealing. Also the double platinum is a good design. There aren't really any better performing plugs out there for the SHO. Maybe the $10 Iridium plugs but there probably isn't a HP benefit there just a 120,000 mile service life vs. the Double Platinum 60,000 mile service life.

The stock wires are high quality and very long lasting. It's best to replace them at 120,000 miles for best performance but my originals were still working without misfiring at 13 years and 148,000 miles.

The only other wires that are going to be as good or better than the Motorcrafts are going to be more expensive. The Taylors and Viteks come to mind. Shawn can get the Viteks made in at least 8 different colors.

Performance wise the stock plugs and wires combined with the stock DIS is a very stout and robust ignition system. It can handle any kind of performance mods you might have in mind.

Does anybody know if the stock Motorcraft wires have a lifetime warranty? Not the originals of course, but if you buy replacement Motorcrafts in the box.

Yeah, a lot of people have tried them. The SHO engine has one plug and one plug only designed for it. That is the motorcraft agsp32pp. Any other plug just won't seat correctly. I believe the bosch's are too tall and therefore won't let the wires seat completely. Stick with the motorcraft plugs and wires.

No, the best you're going to get is 12mo. / 12,000 miles on anything at Ford. The wires are a disposable item.

As for the plug wires - I have seen MANY of the cheaper aftermarket wires on cars with problems, 20,000-40,000 miles after buying them. Yes, you can get a replacement set on those cheaper "warranteed" plug wires, but who wants to redo the plug wires annually?

I only recommend the Motorcrafts - plugs & wires - to my customers. They're more expensive, but they're just plain better wires.

Thanks Fred. Somewhere, I can't remember where, I heard that the SHO OEM replacement Motorcraft wires had a lifetime warranty. Wishful thinking I guess.
