I got new AGSP-32PP plugs per the standard wisdom, SHONut, etc. When pulling the old plugs, out of my Gen I, I saw they were ASWF-32P, and about 1/4" shorter threads. The data sheet on the front of the engine calls for ASWF-32PP, which should only be double platinum, AFAIK. The data card on the front of my '95 3.2 calls for AGSP-32PP. What gives? Either the new plugs are sticking down into the chamber, or the old ones (for 80K problem-free miles) have been set high up out of the combustion chamber. Anybody with any ideas on this puzzler?

I believe there was a TSB regarding this. Apparently some early SHOs indicate the wrong plug on the data sticker. The TSB as I recall indicates that, as we all know, all SHOs use the AGSP32PP plug.

You're just fine, and lucky you didn't have any problems with the old ones.

Later.

Thanks for the tips on the TSB, guys. It seems I have one of the wrong placards. The Ford dealer put the wrong plugs in, too........
