Spare Manual Transmission?

Anyone have one. My speedo gear broke into pieces into my transmission. Anyone have this happen before? It makes grinding noises here and there. Speedo barely works. Car still drives though.

Chris, you should stop driving the car if the pin hasn't already ejected.

$20 says your diff pin is partially ejected.

Guess what, I started it today, and jammed in gear, gave it **** and gas and let up on clutch, it made a grinding and popping noise and started moving, now it seems to drive now. Just still making whining and grinding noises. Lets me know the transmission is still ok, just something stuck inside it. Someones hooking me up with a tranny hopefully Sat. I'll just take the one I pull from the car and try to rebuild it, or at least the problem, and have myself another spare.

Chris, again your transmission is shot. You can drive it around like that, but it's eventually going to seize and leave you stuck somewhere. If you're really lucky, and your tires are sticky enough, you'll even snap an axle!

Seriously though, I wouldn't drive it. Lest you want to break something else in the proce$$.

Chris mentioned it was hard for him to get off Saturdays when he came up here. Maybe once he gets the new transmission in he may be able to swing it.

Ok, june should be ok, a lot of the other coworker pain in the ***** at my job have kids in school, so they prefer working weekdays. With school out, someone can work a saturday. I'm the night shift, and pretty much the only one that closes.

Anyways, got all the stuff disconnected from powertrain, just got to take out tranny mount bolts and up it goes. I'll get some pics of it and post it here later today or whenever I get it out.

Its alittle tricky pulling the tranny from the top so be careful you don't bust the brake master cylinder or anything. Almost all of us drop the entire subframe or the drivers side and drop it out the bottom.

not to rub it in, but I bought a spare mtx transmission about 3 months ago for $75......around 85k on it!

shit I got one for 200 I think and I was happy as shit for that price.....

really anything under 500 or 400 is a deal


if your taking it out the top its almost easier to take the engine with it....

PS pressure line, a/c lines, coolant lines, fuel lines, wiring connectors, throttle cable.... its about ready to come out.........

GOT IT!!! Nothing busted, was real real careful, just scratched a brake line but didn't burst. Will look into later, now for the pics...

Can someone please tell which clutch I have, it appears to be the 9 1/4" one. I'm not totally sure.

Damn, next time drop the subframe so you don't have to pull the engine as well.
