Southbend pressure plate pictures

This pressure plate came with a car I bought. I was just curious if it was an earlier generation and it wasn't as strong as they're made now. It has only two straps? I don't mind pulling the trans again if it is no good, but there is hardly any wear on the fingers and I also got this new rochester clutch four puck with it .

I realize that the four puck is ******** for a daily but if it lasts ten thousand i'm going to try it. I don't see traffic ever and it's mostly highway driving for my commute. I wanted to try the nitrous kit out that came with the car otherwise this wouldn't be a thought in my mind.

Does anyone know if i'd even get ten thousand out of the disc?

Is this pressure plate any good or were the early ones junk?

Would it be wise to upgrade a stock pressure plate by just installing grade eight bolts as they did, i'm just curious?

I have used two south bend clutches in the MetSHO lemons car. I really love that company. They are seriously the best in terms of support, and the products are really well made.

Both the pressure plates I have had multiple straps, like 4 or 5 and use rivets to secure them. The reason I know this is that we actually broke a strap pack last fall from a newbie driver who messed up a downshift.

If you send to SBC, they can most likely rebuild that clutch with fresh straps. If its already installed, i dont see the harm in running it for now. if/when it breaks, call SBC and have them rebuild or refresh it.

The engagement is going to be pretty harsh with that 4 puck (e.g. ******* you, ******* axles etc), given the pain and agony of swapping a clutch I would get a Fibertough disc from SHOnut or SHOsource

I didn't know I could send it back to have it rebuilt and upgraded with their new straps and rivets. Thanks for the information. I'm going to send it to them only if I can purchase a stage two daily disc at the same time I have it rebuilt.
