car makes ticking noise, until I press the clutch pedal, then it goes away. TOB? or worse?

Is it hard to put into gear? Any other problems other than the ticking? I thought I had a TOB problem, but it turned out to be the SHO NUT 9 puck clutch disk. Josah said it was normal. The slight "ticking" is the disk splines on the input shaft.

mine does the same thing, but I got a Spec Stage II.....sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not....but it always goes away when I depress the clutch pedal.

No, its not hard to put into gear. it runs and drives just fine. in fact it drives better than my old 92 did. I'm just going to keep driving it. and yes, when i had the spec stage II in my old car it did the same thing, but it went away after a while.

I've got chatter in 2nd (maybe 1st) on my A4. I honestly ignore it because the cluttch doesn't slip and it works fine...
