Put it in the trunk

That is one of the many reasons I moved my battery to the trunk. I got most of what I needed at a U Pull It yard including a heavy duty, plastic, late model Ford battery tray.

There are a few good write ups (read these) here on the forum. But:

1. Mount the battery on the right side of the trunk over the rear axle.
2. Use a 21 foot (measure for sure) battery cable and attach it to the fender mounted solenoid. Use welding cable of the correct size and have them put the solenoid connection on for you.
3. Feed it along the drivers side door sill and up and out the opening for the unused automatic gear selector opening.
4. Take your time and you can make it look factory. It works really well.

Note: Because I had Aluminum Sub Frame Bushings, I didn't worry about a companion ground wire. Just grounded to the rear frame.

:omgsho:
