The air filter I just cleaned a week or so ago, the old intercooler was in pretty good shape, but whatever the radiator/intercooler looking thing in front of both of those had a few bugs, but mostly just rock damage.

I was heading down the meth path earlier this year, but that is not something I trust myself doing. Once I got pricing for someone else to install it, I went the HPFP path. Much easier for someone with limited mechanical patience and tools like myself, and much cheaper for nearly similar results.

It's ridiculous how fun this car is to drive while getting massaged.

Did some logging early in the week and sent to Matt for review. Currently awaiting a small revision. Need a little more fuel and a little less boost. Saw spikes of 20 almost 21psi, and a very concerning 7 degrees of knock. Yikes. Intake temps were also outrageous, but that seems to be the norm. Gonna start saving for either meth or the GH intercooler. Is the progressive controller needed for meth, or could I just grab the s1 kit from devil's own with the basic hobb switch?

Finished the entire thread, so many nice rides and mods. Need to get some good shots of my car now, but needs a wash first. She dirty! Will definitely be taking some advice from some of the cleaning/detailing posts I've seen. Currently only have stuff that's from the parts store, mostly meguairs.

If your happy with meguires, jump over to the "mirror glaze" line. A 3 stage process of a light cut, glaze, then yellow wax lasts a month with maint washes once a week for me.

I'm not unhappy with meguiars, but wouldn't mind some better stuff. Though I did just buy all this, so I'll use it first before I do. I will definitely look into the mirror glaze line. I will be doing a full wash and wax, asap. Possibly a clay bar. I'll get some polish soon and probably do that before summer is in full swing.

I'm currently watching it hail sideways. Luckily it's more like snow. Not damaging anything. Guess that's what happens when it goes from 85-45 in a day.

If you haven't clay bared it, I would do this first to take stuff off the paint first for two reasons. You get an idea of where the scratches are and you will make sure the polish is the only thing Polishing.

Or I'm just being OCD before I go to town with the orbital.

I don't think that sounds OCD at all. Makes perfect sense! Wouldn't want to start cutting still covered in contaminants. I'm gonna take an inventory of what I have tomorrow, and run to O'Reilly and grab a few things to make a good setup. Probably run to harbor freight and grab an orbital, I've learned my lesson doing this by hand.

I'm gonna take an inventory of what I have tomorrow, and run to O'Reilly and grab a few things to make a good setup. Probably run to harbor freight and grab an orbital, I've learned my lesson doing this by hand.

So from expirience on the harbor freight orbital, make sure the backing plate is tight with the wrench that comes in the kit.

I broke mine and just got the griots garage one from an auto zone. Yes, I could have got the porter cable unit, but it was a unique situation that I needed it now, not later.

The porter cable will also accept the griots vented backing plates in the smaller sizes too.

Yeah, but the rear went up higher so I'm gonna try again with less back there. I took some truck coil spacers and reshaped them to fit.

I'll tell you what I did... changed the oil myself for the first time, not sure why I haven't been doing it all along. Piece of cake. Mobil1 with a Motorcraft filter.

Found that my bottom engine cover was missing, ordered a new one from dealer and installed it.

Did rear brakes a month ago. Fronts last fall. On its third set now (132k miles).

This car is fantastic.

Most of what I got, I already had from my previous vehicle. That is all meguairs ultimate. Compound,polish and liquid wax. So returning is not an option, but no real loss if I do have to buy new stuff. The polisher I have, and I use the term loosely, is from Wal-Mart and was $20. I will most likely return it, as I don't feel it will do any justice.

The 6" HF DA is what I was after, and apparently there was an issue with the latest batch, and are not expected to be back in stock for a while. According to the sales lady at HF.

That link is a steal for the griots polisher, as AutoZone has it in store for 160. And the compound and polish adds up to another 40-60 depending on bottle size.

I may try and use the craptacular polisher I have, as if it doesn't work, I'm only out twenty bucks. And other than a clay bar kit, I won't need to buy anything else. I was also considering the 7" HF, but after reading your comment, am thinking twice about finding a smaller one. Thanks for the suggestion, lots of thinking to do now.
