I had a little time after work so I made a noise maker delete plug in the lathe (think top hat with an o-ring groove) to save some space under the hood. That damn thing really does make noise...much quieter now, and when you get on it you get to hear what the engine and exhaust actually sounds like. Considering what a useless device it is, I'm a bit surprised one of the vendors doesn't spit plugs out on a CNC.

Working for one of the major rental car companies, I get to see a lot of new cars, today my coworker rented the 2017 Charger R/T. Such a sweet car for 30k! For 2017 dodge added the dual mode exhaust from the SRT's to all challenger and charger R/T models, it sound absolutely insane! It has these amazing "fart" sounds during upshifts, I love the exhaust!

Anywho, we of course had to see which was faster, my SHO or the R/T, we didn't race from a standstill, but I know I would've smoked him on the launch. We did however do a pull from about 40-100, I pulled on him pretty hard. I was about 5-6 car lengths ahead of him at the end.

I also recorded him doing a nice burnout, I might upload that and put it on here if anyone wants to see?

All in all, it's a sweet car, and I will probably rent one soon, just to hear that sweet exhaust! But still slower than a SHO, at least a tuned one...:omgsho:

Here is the very short, but sweet burnout! I took it for a drive just now, it won't let you slide, seems there's no way to turn off stability control...

Bah, it's a rental.... who cares.... just means I feel less guilt when I rag on them, lol!
Hahaha! I feel the same, I drive rental cars like I stole them! (Mind you only if I'm renting it, not while at work)

You guys are killing me (or keeping up my overtime), I'm the guy that has to fix that stuff! Yup, life expectancy on a Camaro SS or Hemi Charger tire in the fleet is about 2 months max. I've seen one particular Camaro get three sets in a matter of weeks.
Edit-The other dirty little secret is that the manufacturer buys these back from us at turnback, or we sell at auction usually around 9 months. Now you're local dealer buys these at the auction and puts them on their lot as new used cars. 99% of you don't know to look at the RPO code for the fleet designation or push to find out where the dealer got the car. A fresh set of tires and a nice detail, maybe a little PDR and you'll never know that was the same car you were roasting the tire off.

My last rental was a Camaro SS and I did my best John Force impression every chance I got.

Upgraded my puddle lights today with led bulbs. Nice little upgrade for 9 bucks off ebay (DE3175 bulb). Had to pull out that curved piece of metal inside and use hot glue to ensure the bulb stayed in place since their are two rows of three leds, there are some on ebay that look smaller I would go with those if doing it again. I also used hot glue to reseal the cap which came of pretty easy. Either way, easy peasy.
