Turned 8400 miles on it. In three months!! :eeeeeek:

I've been doing better than 1000 miles a week for the past 4 weeks for work, though, so I shouldn't be racking them up quite so quickly soon, I hope.

I need a project closer to home!

The good news is that as it's breaking in the mileage is getting better. Averaging somewhere around 23 now.

He charged me $150. I wanted him to wrap around the fog lights but he said it would be hard to do and probably wouldn't last long. He recommended plasti dipping them so I'll probably do that in the spring. Yours looks good man.
Is that reasonably priced? I've wanted to try that but I'm one of those Plasti-Dip guys...

Performed my VERY FIRST navigation update, since having purchased my SHO new, nearly six years ago.

For $149 I received both a Software Application Update, as well as a Navigation Update.

Each package contained 2 discs each, for a total of four discs overall.

My original version displayed as "2.0x" and the update I installed reflected version "8.1x"

So to say it was slightly out-of-date, would be a huge understatement.

Directions were fairly simple, as was the process overall.

However, what I wasn't prepared for, was how incredibly long it took to apply these updates respectively.

The Software Application Updates alone, ran approximately 25 minutes for each disc, for a total of 1hr.

But that didn't include the Navigation Updates, which took a total of just over 3 hours!

Holy ****! Yes folks, that's correct...... a total 4 hours to apply all of the necessary updates!

That's a helluva long time to leave your car running. Luckily for me, I have a converter box that I use for some of the bigger indoor car shows I participate in, so it wasn't necessary for me to actually have my caer running. But I suspect that for the majority of you, you'll actually have to start and leave the car running until all the updates load properly.

So that said, might want to make sure you have at least a half tank of gas in it, before starting this process.

Now I haven't had any time yet to test out the updates, as it's been raining all day, and now drizzling, and quite honestly, I just am not interested enough to go motoring around for no reason at all, only to have to spend the amount of time necessary to get the car clean again. So I'll report back later to let y'all know if the expenditures and/or time invested were worth it.

Yesterday I picked up an SCT X4 and a custom tune, today I'm working on a custom subwoofer enclosure to go in the spare tire well. If I can get that finished, I can start running some wire and figure out where the amp rack will go.

I am way behind on this thread. Long nap I know its been a while but as for the open fuel cap. My guess is they were trying to either siphon fuel or if the same group that was egging possibly both. They might have gotten away with it if it wasn't for the EZ-Fill cap They probably figured they couldn't get it open and moved on. EZ Fill....1......Punk spoiled non parental controlled kids.......0 My recommendation, and to me I use this theory. I spent $25 four years ago on my Escape for the locking fuel cap. $25 and this cap has been transferred to three other vehicles on the same cap. If it costs me $25 to have a secondary layer of security then so be it. My guess still cheaper than the alternative. I can speak from experience that the cap works on 2012 Escape AND 2013-2014 Taurus.

For the headlight tinters........Although not a overly big fan I will confess to having a very subtle (5%) headlight tint. Basically the first shade beyond clear. If caught on record I will call it a "Rock Strike Preventative Film" this film just happens to sport out the look and blends with the Ingot Silver and black grille.

Taillight they are starting to grow on me but still not overly convinced. If I could find the same shade (5%) I could consider for tail lights. Again the same concept "Rock Strike Prevention Film" maybe clear. The kid in me says looks great. The adult in me says.....safety first and don't want to reduce any possible reaction time for people behind me. The other side of the adult in me says they could be cause for safety inspection failure or eve worse get that rogue cop who impounds or issues a SERO (Safety Equipment Repair Order) citation.

Where did you get the Carbon Fiber wrap for the A pillar? Was it a vinyl wrap or a actual piece that slides over? I like them.

For my recent projects......

Weather Tech Vent Visors, Ford OEM Moonroof wind deflector, Weather Tech all season floor mats. Ford OEM trunk Liner.

Kenwood KFC 6895 speakers and AMP. The AMP volume **** was a bit wider than I liked but I found a solution. I ran a very small hole in the center of the rectangular compartment of the cup holder tot he right of the shifter. The connection is a telephone jack style so remove the liner. Run the jack through the liner from the bottom with very small cuts in the liner. Basically just enough relief cuts in the liner to slide the jack through. The flaps from the cuts can keep a good tight seal. Leave some slack in the wire and the volume control **** fits in the compartment. Lets face it the compartment is basically useless for much else.

My first choice was to the right of the sun shade button in that compartment but the **** is too tall and won't allow the compartment to close.

Goodyear Eagle F1's freebies from my buddies 2015 SHO P/P that are basically worthless in Oregon especially winter. Mottino TRE Titanium/Gunmetal rims from Tire Rack. OEM rims went into the garage for storage. Costco did the build up, mount, balance and install. Took it to NTB for alignment then even managed to get it over to the local wash.

Got new snow tires. Had some Michelin summer tires on it before, put pirelli scorpions on the 20" flowers yesterday. It is like night and day. Before it was a slippery twitchy white knuckle drive with any snow, now it feels planted and confident. Full throttle will still get her a bit tail happy but it's controlled, and I'd say you get about 30-40% more breaking force before ABS kicks in. They were a little pricey at a shade over $1,100 installed, but well worth it.

This time I flipped off my sons SHO on my way to the beer fridge, since mine is covered and couldn't see me.

Installed bright trax LED puddles and license plate lights. Quality is good and install was quick. They are definitely much brighter and match my philips bright white LED's in the interior. My only complaint is the license plate lights were more blue than than white.
