Went to the shop today bring some more parts. So apparently i have quite a few parts left over some duplicates and some that didn't fit the ******* car at all. He's been ordering parts from Ford to replace the parts that doesn't fit, He's putting the motor back together best he can to get it back in the car to get it off the lift. Been on there for 4 weeks now.
Still waiting for some parts to come in like motor mount bracket, new fuel pump, turbo Tube y-pipe, new radiator. exhaust manifold bolts which came in today. So I guess the car will be sitting on the ground for a few weeks can't start it without these parts.

yeah I pretty much threw my hands up.. (whatever) pretty much three key component parts motor mount bracket holds the engine in. they going to install the broken mount until that part comes in. can't start the car without a fuel pump or the turbos hooked up so it's like whatever nothing I can do about it. I could install the stock fuel pump back in but still waiting on word of when new fuel pump will be here. So it's the waiting game.

The shop is gonna do the break in on that motor, though, right? Man, I don't trust it. This dude has fouled up 6 ways to Sunday in just about every way possible. Worried that thing will toss a rod the first time you pull it hard past 5k rpm.

2nd time in 2 weeks. If I shut off the car and crank it back up, power steering is fine so I guess it's electrical?

Mine has been randomly doing the same thing.
I've discovered that if I wait 30 seconds after starting the car, before touching anything, just enough for the tach and speedo to do their swipe and the radio to boot up, it doesn't happen.
My battery is less than a year old.

I've done a little research and this seems to be a warning sign for the electric power steering rack failure, which is non-servicable, and will likely set us back $2K or so in parts/labor. Assuming it doesn't sporadically fail while driving and cause us to crash. Yay!

Okay I'm not complaining about the shop I'm at. My problem was with the Build Shop that rebuild my motor which wasn't my motor.. ( long story)
The mechanic shop is doing everything they can to get my motor put back together and back in the car. The car has been on the lift for over a month and taking up space for other jobs.
The parts I bought five months ago that half of the shit don't fit and he has to go to ford and spend more money. So it's going to be another two weeks or so before I can get the rest of the parts to finish the motor. Slow shipping and other factors are holding me up not the shop..
And yes if the engine blows up it's under warranty and have documented and sent pictures to the Engine Builder so if anything does happen I have a paper trail of proof

My 2013 would flash a "advance trac not available" message, though everything seemed to work fine. Ford kept it for about a month and replaced the rack and a ton of sensors before figuring out it was a module located on the steering shaft. (I might not have this history totally correct as it's been awhile)

I ended up with a new rack and the various sensors for the cost of just the last part plus a $125 diagnostic fee. I think I ended up paying about $300 all in. That was the last time I didn't get screwed on a car repair.

Yeah, sounds like the shop your car is at is very accommodating...most start charging you rent at this point, lol.

Stop by the shop today for an update and he had a problem putting in the catted downpipes. Has anybody else had this issue installing the downpipes. He said that long pipe was hanging down too far from lining up to The exhaust. He said It needs to be bent in the spot where I marked yellow in the photo. Any ideas why he's having problems?
