Okay that makes sense you can tell I'm not an engine builder thanks for the info.
The easiest way to think about it is this...horse power is the result of combustion. You burn gas, which creates heat, which creates expansion, which moves pistols, which turns a crank, which spins a fly wheel, etc. A small burst of flame does this. The larger the flame, the greater the power. BUT! You can only burn as much gas as you have oxygen in the chamber. No oxygen, no flame. So, you can make the combustion chamber larger (stroking, increasing displacement, etc), Or you can force more oxygen into the cylinder at the point of combustion (forced induction). More oxygen, more fuel can be burnt, bigger explosion of flame, more violent expansion pushing the piston, more power.

Also more stress on the motor, which has to contain the force of that explosion.

Increasing power is simple. Increase the psi of the boost, which allows you to burn more fuel, which creates a larger explosion. Surviving that...is the challenge. Building an engine isn't so much about creating horse power, but about making an engine tough enough to survive the creation of that power (larger explosions).

Yes that's basic physics so to survive all that explosion so nothing blows apart which need stronger internal parts. Like a Raptor crankshaft which is stronger than the SHO crankshaft with stronger pistons and so on. Basically I just needed to know what parts # i need to build a stronger motor.

I think that's a justinR question.

If this were a first gen small block Chevy, I'd be your guy. But it ain't. Its different and weird. Sideways v6.

Ok,, torches is working for the down pipes nuts...but...the nuts stayed on, and the entire stud came out! None snapped, thank God. Can't get the 02 sensors off, even with the 30 dollar tool.

However...I have a different question, guys.

The plug for the upper 02 sensor that's sorta behind the passenger wheel well...how exactly does that unplug?

And why are ford engineers so evil to put it there...when you can't even see it, let alone get a human sized hand on it? Evil! Worse than the Belgians!

Just looked...they're only about 70 each?

Why were they 250 each on the 05 civic? Just because?

If memory serves me only one set was that expensive. The other set was cheap. Either the upstream or downstream.
