I know that game, my E4OD has been buzzing for a year, and that’s converter number two.
Never understood that about the e4ods. First time I ever felt one shift (behind a diesel) it was smooth and kind of cvt-like. I was told the e4ods behind the diesels were programmed to lock up muuuuch later to prevent shock to the driveline with the added torque. Under load a sporty shift could eliminate a U-joint in a hurry. Just what I was told, made sense, but also seems like a lot of unnecessary wear on a transmission already doing more than it should.

4R100 is where its at. Or the 6 speed

How was your MPG on that last trip?

Truck looks great.

With the old set up fully loaded running average speed of 65 miles per hour, I was seeing right at 10 mpg.

However, since my truck has a utility bed filling it completely up is a pain in the ass. It holds 40 gallons. However getting the last 5 gallons into the tank takes about 10 mins. It backs up in the filler neck, and yeah. Even then, to know if it is completely full, you have to wait until you see fuel in the fuel neck to make sure it completely full.

This last trip, I did not have time to mess with filling it up completely because the legs of my journey weren't extremely long. Also I did a couple of things I normally don't do while towing fully loaded. On the trip to Pahrump to SoCal (180 miles) I completely filled up my fresh water tank. I did this because there was a extreme wind advisory. Even through I knew I was overweight, I wanted the stability against the wind.

It was horrendously windy and rainy the whole drive. The new found power of the new set up really shined.

When I left NV, I filled it up until it clicked. I didn't completely fill it. So roughly 34 to 35 gallons. When I got to CA it was just under a half tank.

On the way home (360 miles) I only put 10 gallons in because diesel in Dumbfu ckistan was $4.85 a gallon. I try as little a possible to give anything to that state. All I had to do it get to stateline. Once I got to stateline it was $2.99 a gallon but I didn't fill it completely up again. There was a ton of holiday traffic, and I just wanted to get home.

So to answer your question after a long winded diatribe....I have no idea.

Ford F450 Update: Truck is running great. Everything is shaken down. The truck has roughly 800 miles on it since the injector, HPOP, and AirDog install. I did get another batch of custom tunes. I went with AA Design and Performance Tuning. Andrew Arthur is the tuner. The GH tunes are good, but the AA tunes are a bit more....rowdy.

It is difficult to see how much boost each tune is running because the factory MAP sensor only reads up to 26 psi. My CTS 3 gets it's boost reading through the OBD2 port directly from that MAP sensor and from what I know, there really isn't an upgraded one.

So I am in the process of expanding my CTS and installing another pressure sensor in the spider intake to monitor the actual boost that is going directly into the engine itself. Riff Raff Diesel has a really cool air heater delete plug that I can screw that pressure sensor into. So it will look super clean and be functional. Hopefully all the parts will be in by Thursday, because I have a local camping trip coming up this weekend.

I will of course post that install, once I install it.

So I got the new Riff Raff Plug and pressure sensor installed into the truck. Boy did I learn some things.......

When the truck was stock it was only making 18 to 20 psi of boost. Most people say 22 psi is the most you will see on a stock tune.

I knew I would see an increase with the up pipes, turbo, elimination of boost leaks, and hydra tuner. I saw an increase to 23 to 25 psi.

Next was the injectors, HPOP, and fuel system along with the custom tuning. Most I was seeing was 26 psi. From the above post I understood why. The real question was...how much more are seeing over 26 psi?

Well I found out and it made my ******** pucker. In the second hottest tune, the truck made 39 psi and it felt like a 10k lb ballistic land yacht. Pretty sure we are going to see mid 40's on the hottest tune.

I asked my buddy Adam if that was normal, and he said yes. The injectors max out at 450 hp and egts were great. He said it should junk the transmission well before it hurts the motor. So yeah. I don't beat on it often, but it is really nice to know what I have...if I need it.

When I get the chance I will switch over to the hottest tune and see what happens.

It made 42 psi on the hot tune and I will admit, I didn't have it on the floor. I was scared, and chicken footing it. Not because of the speed, I have severe PTSD of the charge pipes blowing off! Sounds like a bomb.

My charge pipe on the sho blew apart last week (3d printed test subject, it gave its life with honor, no way was that Volvo going to merge) and the noise that came with that was more akin to a very unimpressive cap gun, followed by a drone similar to sloth from the goonies. Blowing out candles with emphysema. I say pop in some ear plugs and stuff it to the floor, scream while you're doing it if that helps, but record the boost gauge. Remeber: you weren't going to let it go this far, now you have, so dont not take the last step to the edge. See what she can do.

**DISCLAIMER** IF ANYTHING MORE THAN A CHARGE PIPE LETS GO, JUST REMEMBER THAT YOU LISTENED TO AN IDIOT ON THE INTERNET.

Easton sounds like fun and a bit scary too.

I was driving home one day with my SHO and an older Ford pickup came up to me at the light, not sure what he had in that truck but he took off like a bat out of **** and I couldn't catch him. I'm pretty sure it was diesel powered.

Enjoy
