There is a reason why. I am going to get the IC mocked up ect. The way I want to add the heat exchanger, it will not change any piping. However, I want to run a really nice heat exchanger and a really nice water box. Just the water box will be around 1k. Honestly I will don't want to install it, get it all sorted out, just to pull it apart again for the turbo install.

So I will mock it, throw the stock IC back in and add a meth kit to be able to run the car while I wait for turbos and gather pieces for the A2w.

So while I am waiting to re-coop some funds for my A2W IC project (pool pump went out, then new pump cracked my filter base....1200 dollars later) I thought this would be a good time to see what my DIY sprayer would do to a stock IC. It dropped my GH IC 12 degrees. So.....I tested it.

So....with the stock IC, my boost is up because of stock IC restrictions...lol. IAT's are complete dog shit even in 60 degree ambient temps. On my first 3rd gear pull temps started at 136 degrees and dropped to 124 degrees and quickly rose to 144 degrees lol. Here is the pic of temp data of my IAT2's.

20201108 135648

Below is the log of the DIY water sprayer. I sprayed the shit out of the stock IC with Ice water. Two 15 second blasts dropped the IAT's to 113. Started the pull at 113 while spraying the stock IC during the run. Temps dropped to 106 degrees, and rose to 113 where they stayed.

20201108 135505

I pulled a log with the GH IC in 57 degree temps for a third gear pull to compare. Started at 114 degrees and dropped to 86 degrees at the top of 3rd for a 28 degree drop......

20201108 150102

Interesting set of data I think.

So yes the GH IC does work great, however the DIY spray for 14.99 off Amazon cuts the difference. However, I do not have a functioning windshield wipers. Also my car is seeing boost quicker, and holding more boost across the rpm band as well.

Was there any “seat of the pants” gain to this? The butt dyno is a direct correlation to confidence, and as result, gives you the confidence to race other high end cars in Mexico.

I will run it against my old set up in Draggy and on the Livewire. Butt dyno says its faster though.

Screwing around the last time I had the car out. Knocking on the 11's with stock hot pipes, stock IC, and stock intake with K&N drop in.

Waiting on parts to become available before the tear down for turbos and A2W set up.

Awesome, any weight reduction or are you running full phat pig?
Full weight. I refuse to remove anything from this car. If anything the A2W setup will add at least another 120 to 150 lbs more. Even with the extra weight my new set up with the ATP turbos my SHO should go into the 11's without really leaning on it. To be honest that is really all I want it to do.

I have no aspirations for going fast with this car. If I want to go fast, I will build a stripped out Foxbody with a 5th/6th gen BBC with a pair of Wuhan War Whistles.

After the turbos and A2w, I am probably going to swap to a different rim setup. I am really liking the bronze set ups.

I hear you. Hats off to the folks blazing the trail, but...not for me. I like...easier satisfaction.

My next car will be either a 350Z or 5th gen corvette. Or 370z/6th gen corvette, depending on their pricing in 2-3 years.

Torn on which way to go...I've always wanted a Z car...but then, I've also always wanted a modern vette.

What are your goals for each platform? Those are very capable vehicles in a different sense entirely.

Purely IMO, but for a pure track car, the 370Z is great. For something for summer fun and the track, the Vette is better. You can modify to your heart's content!

Limerock is about an hour drive from where I live. Watkins Glen, maybe 2-3 hour drive. I had my old car on Limerock a couple few times, but always with the nagging doubt of not being able to safely make it home after a good afternoon of track abuse.

My goal is, a nice "gentleman's racer" that can take a thrashing at the track, and still drive home.

I always figured, for either the corvette or the Z...suspension, wider wheels (315 rears, 275 fronts), supercharger, racing seat with 4 point harness (required).

370Z goes for a pittance.
Wwhich I don't understand. RWD, stout motor, reliable, looks great. Handles decent. On rails if you lower it and get better tires. Huge aftermarket. Heck, full exhaust and a blower with supporting mods (6-7k) will get you darn near 500rwhp. And in that, 500 is enough.

For pretty much whatever.
