single cd in 89

I added a ford single disc player off ebay into my 89. it looks perfect and fits great. I took the mounting brackets off the factory cassette, and re installed them back into the dash. the single disc player slipped in perfectly into the bracket. the spring loaded mounting system of the newer style stereos hold it in place really well. I reinstalled the face place plate/stereo surround.

I swapped in a sec gen jbl amp since they require a different voltage to turn on. plugs in and worked fine. sounds great, plays my cd's and it has the oem lack of desirablity and hopefully less desire to be stolen.

Hmmm, I've been trying this in my 89, with 2 different stereo's and 2 different Gen 2 amps with no luck..... I think I have a wiring problem......
It's good to know that it does work, so I'll keep on keeping on!
