I'm trying to remove my UDP from SHO Source. The tool I rented from the local parts store is only designed to put the 2 screws into pulley like the stock pulley has.

The SHO Source pulley has 3 holes in a triangle pattern. I've seen steering wheel pullers that have the same design. Will any steering wheeler puller work or do I need a more specific tool?

Not saying anything negative against SHO Source. I simply don't have the right tool for the job....again. Story of my life.

:thankyou:

Try using a gear puller.

I think Harbor Freight has a "bolt puller kit" P/N 37824 on sale for $9.99

It should work well to pull the pulley as long as you have the correct bolts (you may need to get different bolts to use with the HF kit).

Thanks Mike. Does anyone know what size bolts are needed to remove the the SHO Source UDP?

My harmonic dampener puller has a 180º accommodation for our 2 hole crank pulley, and a 120º accommodation for the 3 hole pulleys.

I got it at (don't judge me) AutoZone.

Just borrow/rent a crank pulley puller from Autozone or similar auto parts chain store. Most are two/three hole versions.

If SHOSource followed the bolt size on the OEM crank pulley, you'll need three M8-1.25, maybe 40mm long bolts to pull their pulley. Most decent puller kits will have an assortment of bolts needed to pull common pulleys.

I'll be stopping by Autozone on the way home from work tonight. The one that I rented from Discount is only for 2 holes.

AutoZone has one that can do either the 2 or 3 holed pulleys for $15 bucks. I'll buy stuff like this from them but certainly not their parts.
