My engine made a wierd noise this morning, almost a clucking sound from the left side. Then after about 2 min it went away. It hadn't been started in almost a week, but when I took it out of storage this spring and started it for the first time in 5 months, it was fine. I really don't want to take any chances so I'm going to be putting new cams in. I was looking for an excuse and this was it. I guess the SHO Shop is working on a Stage 1 cam. Does anybody know how far along this is? I really don't want to put new cams in and then have the Stage 1s come out and have to buy them over again.
Also, I wouldn't worry about the pin they put in. It's common for machine shops to do that to attach pieces of metal. I have an attachment for an airtool that is put together with a pin and it's solid as a rock, and it's under a lot of stress every day. I would be more weary of a weld than a pin.
