Finally got mine in. I absolutely LOVE it! No problems engaging any gear, and it is in its lowest/shortest shift setting. I also picked up a black Hurst shift ball that I am liking very much.

Jose, I will say it again; if you develop anymore parts consider me in. This product was very well thought out and executed. The installation instructions were top notch. I wish every aftermarket part I purchased was this high quality. :thumb:

cool, any pics w/ the hurst ball? this short shifter sounds like a very promising thing and everyone seems to love it, Jose sounds like a great person to do business with as well.

Do you think it would be a good idea on a daily driver?

No pics yet. Apparently there are two sizes of Hurst shift-balls out there. A friend of mine has a white one in his '70 Chevelle SS and it is very small compared to mine. Mine is darn near the size of an 8-ball. I still like it though. I would recommend the SHOrt Shifter for a daily driver. I use a SHO Shop Hi-Revs Race clutch and did not have any problems on the street.

I should note that all my transaxle internals have been ceramic coated. I am also trying out Royal Purple Max ATF fluid, which I have not heard of any other SHOs using. So far results are good. Shift smoothness and feel are excellent. I do not know how much to attribute to the ceramic coat and how much for the **** though.

I've got my SHOrt Shifter in my daily driver and I love it! I couldn't imagine going back to a stock rod shifter now! :D
Props to Jose for putting out such a quality product.

my advocation for Jose's SHOrt shifter goes without saying, I like 20 others took a shot at the product on the original run. I love it and would never go back. Actually I have found it difficult to drive other ppl's SHO's that don't have the shifter. I love the positive stops feel of the shifter, lets you know you are really in gear and not breasking things off inside the tranny.

I'd have to say that it is my #2 favorite mod so far, only seconded by my Y-pipe.

MilTownSho,

I am curious and concerned about your shifting problems, especially if they are due to the SHOrt Shifter.

I have posted several troubleshooting tips that I thought might be helpful, but I am not sure if you have read them or tried them out yet.

I would recommend that you install the stock shifter back and compare how it performs to the SHOrt Shifter. It the shifting problems go away completely, then, there might be something wrong with the SHOrt Shifter or the installation.

If the shifting problems are noticeable with the stock shifter, they will probably feel worse with the SHOrt Shifter. Having less leverage with the SHOrt Shifter will require a bit more effort to make the shifts.

Please give me a call to see if I can help you sort you problems out. Late afternoon est would be best for me.

Right now my shifter is shifting awesomely. I don't know if my transmission has broken in, or if it is due to the hot weather.

Jose

As usual, the quality sucks. :madflame:

The two people that have driven the car besides me raved about it as well. One was a friend of mine, and the other is my alignment/suspension tech at Group 2. Considering the tech spends most of the day driving later model exotic cars, I thought that it was cool that he was impressed.

Jose, your shifter drew a lot of attention at the convention! At one point, I left the door of my car open so those that wanted to check it out could do so without having to hunt me down! Hopefully it will mean a few sales for you!

Scuse me Hack, where did you have this ceramic coating done? and at what cost? Can you provide a comparison of the smoothness and speed of shift with this versus OE?

The trans bits were done for me through Beth (Bizzy) when she built the transaxle. The place that I use locally is Performance Coatings. There website can be viewed here. They did all my external coatings and are doing all the internal engine coatings on my 3.3L. From what I gather, there are numerous places across the country that use the same processes.

Highest quality SHO product on the market, coupled with the best product support. Nothing else needs to be said. Thanks again Jose.
