First time ever for my SHO stalling and not starting, then starts. Shut of SHO, then headlights flicker on momentairly and shut off. Try to start ten minutes later and no start. I then disconnect the battery for a few moments
This is the fifth time a no start situation without any trouble codes.

No I have no coolant leaks, I do have a problem with the auto lamp. The instrument panel and tail lights stay lit when I shut off the car with autolamp engaged, so I just drive with it in off position.

I want to say I remember years back reading about an autolamp switch failure causing some crazy symptoms like you are describing. It might've been my SHO, I don't recall that far back. Anyways, disconnect the autolamp switch and see if that fixes your light problems. I don't expect it to fix your starting problem, but let's hope so.

I do recall a few needing to be replaced. The electrical may or may not be related. I do know that faulty alts/batteries and pcms cause all kinds of havok. If they are not related then I would suspect crank sensor failure.

When you say is will not restart...does it at least crank over when you turn the key or is there just a click or series of clicks?

Yep, sounds like this one belongs in the electrical section, somewhere I can't help much! :p

Good luck finding your cause though! :thumb:

It cranks over alright, it's like it has no spark and this problem only occurs after alot of starting and shuting off in short trips throughout the day, when it is warmer outside.

On my ATX, my auto-lamp has a mind of its own. One day my car just stalled right after I flipped it on. Its only done it twice to me. I cannot figure it out. Hard to say.....

Next time this happens, try turning the key to the run position to trigger the fuel pump on and then turn the key back off. Do this a few times to prime the fuel pump before you turn the key all the way to crank the engine. My guess is the pump, I had this happen with a few SHO's when it warmed up and went around town doing errands. If you have an extra hand, check the fuel pressure when this is happening.

Not a bad guess tysho, but just to be different...I'm going to say the same thing I always say when I see these symptoms.

Crank Sensor.
