Wow, Im shocked at the price increase. Thats a solid 33% increase over the estimate. I think Im gonna pass on this. More than I wanted/expected to be spending.

depending upon where you started. I expected to be paying around 450 total but it's gonna be about 650-700 total. but 100-150 of that is in mufflers which I wasn't expecting to pay but the aluminized ones sound like crap compared to the magnaflows. so to me it only went up about $100 from where I was expecting. It's over a 25% increase but oh well.
As soon as we get enough order we will start production.
Thanks for understanding. It took a while to get prices up for this very reason. I was working to get the best price possible.

With all due respect, and adding congratulations for getting it done.
It seems like since, this being a group buy, WE'RE actually financing the development of this offering, so should't we also be the benificiaries. I mean if your not in the initial group buy you pay more because you weren't part of the "development team".
Don't misunderstand me I think its great that you guys are keeping new parts coming for our outdated cars but this should be a mutually agreeable relationship. I mean you wouldn't be in business (are you guys losing money?) without the community, yes?
Please clarify ASAP refundability of deposit.

Wow, this is a big and unexpected bump. Might end up passing on this, will have to think about it.
Matt, Kurt and I talked through the group buy, and I was elected to answer the group. I probably should copy and quote all the different questions, but I prefer to answer freestyle. If I miss an answer or if you have any other questions let us know.
1) Matt really has been trying to get the prices down to the target prices, but as stated before, the price went up. The main reasons for the price increase is the Magnaflow Stainless resonator and the stainless flex pipe. Matt, Kurt and I talked about this quite a bit. If we went with the original generic resonator and bell end, we could reduce the price, but this catback is too nice to "cheap out" on the resonator. Even with the original components the price would be $40 higher instead of the $120 increase we are at now. If it becomes a deal breaker for the majority of the group, we could reconsider and go to the original scope, but trust me, you want the better components.
2) Since we made the command decision for the group to improve the components (which drove up the cost), we will allow any of the people in the group buy to opt out if they want. We will issue a refund of the deposit, and there will be no hard feelings on our part. We understand money is tight, just let us know some time before May 5th and we will get the refunds out right away.
3) For those who still want to go forward with the group buy, we will take a recount of the orders on May 6th and if we are close to the correct number, we will go forward with production ASAP. If almost everyone opts out, we will not go forward, but if it is only a few, SHO Source will pick up the slack with additional inventory and make this group buy a reality. We really want to go into production by the end of next week, so we will push hard to get everyone's decisions.
4) Those people in the group buy can be reassured that they are getting a special price. We are selling these catbacks at the lowest price we can now so we can make the group buy happen. Once the group buy ends, we will have to buy additional inventory since they are made in batches. The combination of higher manufacturing and inventory costs means the "street price" on these catbacks will be higher once the group buy ends. This also means if anyone else wants to jump in before the price increases, get in now. Once the buy closes, the price on SHOsource.com will go up.
It was a difficult decision to raise the price, but we felt it was the best choice for most people. Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

400 bucks for an exhaust isnt that bad. I mean if you buy the dynomax kit its around 350 and that kit is not stainless.

ShoSource... I think it is awesome. This looks like it will be a GREAT peice and good addtion to catback options. Now there is 2 options. 
and sounds far superior to the dynomax kit.
For the people who are undecided, money tight, or researching still. This price of 420 is CHEAP. Overall for stainless steel pipe, menadral bends, SS flex, and resonator is a great deal.
