My SHO is running great but ever once in a while (about every couple of days), It doesnt like to start up so easy. This has happened when the engine is warm or cold. What happens is it struggles to start until I give it a little gas, then it fires right up. Runs like a champ and idles smooth, I just have this problem every once in a while. I'm thinking that maybe its a Cam position sensor( CID , i think its called  ) or maybe its fuel related? Thanks!

If it was the CID then you would have the hard starts, but only intermittently and when heated....plus rough engine performance, a CE light, no tach signal when the condition occurs and the engine finally starts (albeit badly)and most importantly a stored code referring to the CID sensor...code 214.

If pressing the gas pedal allows it to start, you have a faulty IAC or control coircuit for the IAC.

The IAC is supposed to open partially at startup to provide air for the engine since the throttle is closed. Since you have to open the throttle with the accellerator to get it to start, it is therefore safe to assume that the IAC did not open.

On the intake opposite the throttle body.

Silver cylinder, about 1-1.5 " diameter, about 5-6 inches long with a two wire electrical connector.

They cost about $50-60 aftermarket.

I would suggest attempting to clean it before replacement. You might get lucky.
