I put in stage 3 tonight and when it was done I held down the start button and then it made all the weird noises. It went though the download on the tuner. Does this mean it erased my stock tune and replaced it with what was loaded on the computer? Why did it download when it was done loading my tune?

When you download a tune on your car using the device, it first saves the stock file which takes about 5 minutes... then it downloads the tune. Your stock tune is not erased, you can always go back to it in the menu Return to stock.

Once flashed and you start your car, it is normal that it takes longer for the ignition (like 2 or 3 seconds).

I was to keep stage 3 as well and use stage 4 only for track, but the last time I went to the track, I forgot to reflash to stage 3 and I am running stage 4 since... You can feel it is harder on the transmission, but it is worth the extra power.

Enjoy!

I wouldl be very interested in the front bumper removal as well. I would love to replace the grills too but not sure what to do with the radar system in front.

I just noticed today while coasting through a light I pressed gas and felt like trans slippage... First time it happened. Will tuning help? Or do I need to take to service.
Bring it to the dealer before flashing it... But as always, I am sure it won't do it when the tech will try the car, but at least you will have reported it before flashing it... But the Livernois tunes are very good, it might correct the issue as well and the stage 2 particularly is very safe since it still has torque management and the extra boost is not too big to handle.
Enjoy the tune!

Steve is right....While I really didn't have any issues prior to tunes... I have run both Livernois stage 4 and many custom Torrie tunes. ALL of them make the tranny feel great.....Have run tuned tranny for over 20K.

lol I was saying the same to my dad when I was younger... Back in 1994-1999, my father had 2 STS 300hp (94 and 97). For the time, it was freaking fast (remember the Stangs GT only had 225hp!). The only way to make sure he won't go crazy, is to use the parental key system. In the other hand, as long as the mother doesn't know, that can be a good thing between father and son... My father once asked me if his Caddy was fast... I had forgotten to reset the computer and the average mileage was 32l/100km which would be something like 10mpg lol... Enjoy stage 4 mjhpadi!

Another way of monitoring is to let your son take the car but ask him not to touch the computer. Make sure that you already have some mileage since the last reset of computer stats and note the mileage of the car. If you see that the mpg goes up, that means he is crazier than you! lol

Actually, he is a pretty good driver, and I'm the one who turned him into a car guy, so I can't blame anyone else. But today he is at his university doing some testing for the fall semester. He drove mom's Explorer, since he took some friends along and I need the SHO.

I have been suing stage 3 for the last couple of days and like the power, but it sure feels rough on the trans. I flashed back to stage 2 today and will run it for a couple of days to see if I like it better. I also need to take it in to the dealership for tsb 11-5-6 but it seems like I never have time.
