guys,

.25% @ 36 months, plus 3000 in rebates.

at 19,500 miles per year (granted i'm on dplan)

0 out of pocket 550 per month.

at 15k miles, the residual would increase 3%.

If your thinking about a new one, it's a great time to get one,

Seems steep compared to other $40-$50k cars.

Is the residual still 52% for 15k miles a year, 36 month? Pathetic.

And buying a house used to be a guaranteed good investment. There are pros and cons to any investment of money. Leases certainly have their place, even past business ventures...

I leased my SHO and now I've leased my 2013 MKS and I agree. I don't have to worry about what the value of the vehicle is after to recover in trade-in after, Ford assumes the value risk. Just do the math and know your numbers. For my 2010 SHO it was pretty borderline I would have gotten the trade-in value for what it ended up being worth after the 36mo lease and what I would have owed on 0% financing...as a returning lesse with X-Plan the deal was sweetened even more as they money down was reduced even further on the 2013 MKS. (the partner site put up 6400 down, 540/mo for 12k-mi for 24mo on loaded 202A, I only had to put 3200 down)...

Leasing is of course stupid if you think at all you'd want to buy the car after... the money factor will always be higher then 0 or 0.9% financing incentives you can get initially.

What is the actual capitalized cost on that lease and what is the initial MSRP before rebates? Do you have sales taxes to pay upfront?

Leases ARE stupid ... when you go over the mileage. Or have too much damage. Or don't put enough mileage on it and then give it back at the end instead of paying for it and selling/keeping it.

My lease is 15K miles/year for 39 months, at $581/month, and I'm going to be pretty close to the max mileage. AND the capitalized cost was $43K. Buyout at the end is like $21K if I remember correctly.

The fact that I will have almost 50K miles on it by then, and it's going to be almost all stop-and-go commuting, I'm probably just going to turn around and lease another SHO - unless something else nicer from Ford comes out by then :munch:

Leases are stupid.....period.

Unless it is a 100% business vehicle.

Just curious, what's your reasoning here? There's a school of thought that says always lease a depreciating asset. Also, why is it good for a business, but not an individual?
