OK guys, I found a 90 mocha on blk SHO at a little rinky **** car lot today, identical to mine in every way even down to the manufactured month, cool! except mocha instead of red. asked to start it up but it doesn't start. I noticed that I don't hear the fuel pump prime up when I turn the key. I'm thinking the inertia switch was somehow tripped, or that the pump itslef is dead. here's the crappy part, NO TRUNK KEY and the lever by the seat has been locked. I know it doesn't take but a minute to pop that thing off. is it more likely to be the inertia switch or the pump itself? Is there anything else I should check? Let me know guys and gals!

I would at least buy it for parts. You could need it, not to mention you could easily make $200 back if you part it.

With the key on, you can ground the EEC connector. Search to find what pin, I forget off hand.

Or take a little starting fluid with you. Just to make sure that it will actually run.

if your looking at the EEC test connector its the bottom right pin, ground that one with a jumper. With th key on as well.
You should here the pump run.

The best i can do for right now.....

dude!

Hey, I live in Lakemoor, just west of there in McHenry County. I'll buy the car with you this friday if you want to pick some parts of it with me or try and fix it.... I live on about 20 and have a huge driveway so we can store it at my house if nessacary. Let me know if your up for it or if you're just going to buy it yourself, or if not at all. If your in Zion, I'm only about 40 minutes from you, and would meet up with you in Waukeegan to look at it. Let me know man.

Cool! I have a huge driveway as well. Sounds like a great idea, can I get your phone number? Monday would be better for me, but I would be intrested in that. I thought about trying to get it running at the dealership, but then they might want more that $200 (sticker on windsheild says $500, but he said I could have it for $200)thanks a bunch!

Btw Blk 93, what parts do you want/need? I was hoping to grab the 2 back window motors, 2 power window switches, hood shocks, dash lights dimmer thumbwheel, water pump (if good) and left rear caliper and front license plate bracket. and possibly the clock, mine works, but the light is burnt out.

for 200.00 I would buy it just to see what treasures are in the trunk. Does it have a keypad? If it does, the code is in the glove box. If you really had to get the inertia switch going, you could always take out the back seat and trip the switch wit a stick.

Yes it has keyless pad and it worked when I locked the doors. the glove box is also locked (dang it) as many of you know the code is on the underside of the trunk lid as well as the module box attached to the back of the seat.

Got It running today, YAY!!

Well, I went back to the car lot today after finding out how to pop the trunk from the locked lever. Inertia switch was ok, but still didn't hear pump "prime up". after about 4 or 5 sprays of starting fulid on the MAF, it started up. Alsothe pump now sounds just as it should. THE CE light stays on though. I'm thinking Bad MAF sensor?? what could have caused that, anyone?? Also, although it runs now it has a weak battery so looks like I'll still have to tow it home.
