my car shimmies and shakes above 70 mph. not violently, but it's annoying. did this with the stock rims and old tires (just added team dynamics with 18" falken azenis). even when they rebalanced the old tires and aligned the car (to nick chrimes' specs), still vibrated. i remember Tyler saying his car started doing this a year ago. he can't figure it out.

what else can make a car drive like the tires are not balanced? CV joints?, axles? car has never been in an accident.

now, i did not have the shop re-balance Sung's wheels and tires. i figured they were still fine with only 600 miles on the combo.

rotate the tires to see if the shimy changes. If your struts are still good, and your rims arent bent, its more than likely the balance. Either they are out of balance, or junk tires.

Your rotors can be really bent. My 96 4runner has the same problem it shakes like **** around 60 even when i dont hit the brakes. I put new rotors and it is gone so try that out.

My car was shaking pretty badly after I swapped front brakes and put new wheels/tires on. I thought it was the wheels at first, and it still may be a slight cause, but when I jacked the car up and ran it in place without the wheels, I could see that the drivers side CV was wobbling. I replaced it and 75% of the vibration went away. I still have to check the passengers side, and track down the other 25%.

My vibration only starts around 50mph, but it never goes away after that speed.
