You want to test to see if they open around 4 grand?

When its idling, you can tell if they are closed. With an MTX, you could just rev the motor past 4, but since you have an ATX you cant do that.

You could unplug the vac. line that goes to the canisters that hold the secondaries shut. When there is no vacuum, they open. (They are also open when the car is off and should close when the car is started and a vacuum is created.)

WOW that was a fast reply, thanks, i will check to see if they are open when the motor is off and so forth, having a ATX if i rev it to 4g's they won't open? as opposed to a MTX? sorry if my question seems ignorant, i'm new to all this SHO space age engine stuff lol

In an ATX, you can test them. You'll hear them opening and closing as you ping against the rev limiter especially if you have your silencer removed.

The ATX has a rev limiter which apparently keeps you from revving to 4 grand, which is when the secondaries open. But as SeanMc said, you can hear them open and close when you hit the limiter, or so I've heard. They still all open at about 4 grand when your driving around whether you have an ATX or MTX, at least they should :thumb:

An ATX has a rev limitor at 4 grand...right when they open.

I guess you could sit with the hood open and rev the engine manually under the hood and watch the secondaries to see if they open.

I would check to see if they are open when car is off and suck shut when the car is started. (I said suck... )

Just happen to see your post...so I thought I would give you an answer...just so happened to be right after you posted. :thumb:
