My only attempt at doing this was pulling the excess of cable going through the pedal itself and then cutting 1/4" vacuum line to fit the almost 2" of slack in the line length wise, then splitting the vacuum line in half down the middle, sliding the cable right in the vacuum line then duct taping it all around the cut I made down the middle to hold it on tight.

Problem with that solution it only lasted a few days because the constant use just ended up tearing up the vacuum line to shreds.

I've tried buying decent used cable from eBay but they just ended up being just as stretched as my current one, ford discontinued them, so any ideas on taking up the slack? Or any slim chance of anyone knowing where to find a new one?

the throttle cable used on lawnmowers is the same type (twisted wire), perhaps you could adapt one.

Make sure your gas pedal arm is not bent. Mine was bent and made it seem like the cable was stretched. The pads of all 3 pedals should be at the same height; my gas pedal was about 2" below the others.

Even with the slack in the cable they should all be at the same height? If that's true then my pedal arm is bent at least 2" forward, any suggestions solving this? Would the arm take a 2" bend back the other way? Or did you end up finding another solution to your problem?

I've been looking at bike brake lines for alternative solutions, I'll have to try it when the weather improves.

If the are is bent the gas pedal will sit lower (closer to the firewall) than the other pedals. A bent pedal arm should not have any extra cable sticking out; it just won't have the travel to open the throttle all the way. Can you take a pic of how it sit right now? If it's the cable you could take a 5/16 bolt and cut a groove half way through the threaded section flush with the head wide enough to fit the cable in. Then you could use a nut to capture the cable. If you feel adventurous you can just cut the end off and drill a hole through the bolt rather than making a slot.

I just fabricated a new throttle body bracket that held the cable further away from the cam. I'm talking about the black painted bracket on the firewall side of the throttle body.

The purpose of the mod was to bring the pedals all in line with one another. Worked like a charm.
