S.O.S. The SHO is down..... clutch???

Ugh. And I was hoping that it was the clutch fork shaft bushings like it was on my SHO. Kept on going through clutches every 20-30K. Replaced the bushings and it has cone 60K.

Fork twists as it is pressing on the TOB, edge of TOB rubs against cover fingers, eventually cutting through them.

Wowsers.
Mine did that at 170ish thousand miles. 1991 w/ larger clutch- Original clutch I'm pretty sure.

The PP fingers were worn down (unevenly), the TOB was pretty toasted, and an inner spring was just rattling around.

What frustrated me to no end is I had absolutely NO signs of clutch wear the year and a half I drove it until the crank sensor went out.
I changed it and when I pulled out of the garage it did exactly what NotSoSlow's was doing. My wife said it was my fault, but I was ready to blow the piece up.

Pretty proud I did the clutch job myself, though. Took me long enough...

The same thing happened to me on a stock clutch. I pushed in the clutch pedal, shifted into second and noticed the revs never dropped -it was a perfect power shift. After putting it in neutral it wouldn't go into gear at all. After pulling it all apart I found out the disk hub had exploded. The disk surface didn't have much wear, and the PP appeared to be good except for a little bit of uneven wear on the fingers. Most SHO folks will never buy a stock PP again, I will never buy a stock disk (or PP) again, and I use a ceramic TOB every time.
