just started recently. stinks. have not done much to it lately. changed IAC. other one was making it idle odd and die here and there till the car warmed up. swaped it with one from my spare 3.0. compadable with 3.2? i have another 3.2 IAC that i may install. is that going to make it run rich if the IAC is acting up? what else is likely the cause?:munch: i would pull the codes but my bulb is out.

Put a new bulb in it or just swap one over for the time being, come on...
Bad O2s will make you run rich and stink.

It could be a few different things you really need to pull codes to know for sure what it is. A bad MAF could also make the car run rich and lean.

If your computer is set to run with an 80mm MAF and you are using the stock MAF it will cause your car to run rich.

AFAIK, the computer can't be "set". You either have an LPM, or some other sort of chip. Drop the glove box, check the back of the computer, and see if there's a chip in it. If there is and you're running the stock MAF, take the chip out.

I was assuming that he had an LPM programmed for an 80mm MAF.

My experience had been that when you run rich, the O2 sensors are on the way out. Mine used to turn the check engine light on when they went west. I found that the motorcraft sensors were the only ones that were reliable, and I needed them to get it working right again. I tried a brand X, and the light would come on below 2000 rpm.
Another thing to look for is the engine temperature. My thermostats would get old and the needle would hardly come off of the bottom, and my gas mileage would get bad.
