Ok i'm running rich and as to one of my previous posts the code I got was Adaptive fuel limit reached - rich.

This seems as if it would explin why the motor stalls at stop lights, a nice easy stall. I swapped out the MAF from my 90 and it helped for a little while but towarrds the end of the day yesterday and this AM it been doing it again. No where near as bad as before but enough to **** me off.

After doing a search I came up with a few theoris...

1) Fuel Injectors leaking - I kinda doubt this because i've sat playing with the stereo with the car "on" not running and it still starts real easy.

2) ECT - my temp is a little higher then i'd like for in-town driving but nothing bad...????

3) BAP - ????

4) Oil in plug wells and new plugs? Yes they are full of oil but the car does not stutter or skip even at low rpm cruising

5) Maybe I need to reset the computer but how?

Any other thoughts?

Resetting the computer is easy. Either disconnect the negative battery cable for like 10 minutes, or you can disconnect the smaller negative wire going from the battery terminal for a few minutes. I would try testing your ECT. I believe if you do a search here you will find instructions.

As far as the other things I have no clue.... sorry I'm not more help to ya... shrug

Could also be a vacuum leak. When the leak is bad enough the motor is running lean and the PCM cannot compensate. It then has reached the limit on adding fuel resulting in a adaptive rich limit code.

Also a rough, uneven idle points to a vacuum leak.

The knock sensor is not the source of your problem and is most likely just fine. The test result says to ignore the knock sensor code if you are not having a problem with knocking during normal driving. That result only says that the sensor did not detect any knock during the goose test. There may not have been any knock to hear.

Have you checked the fuel pressure? The injector pulse may have to be at the longest pulse width and still be unable to provide as much fuel as the engine control system needs because the fuel pressure may be too low. That code doesn't mean that the engine is running rich. It just means that the fuel injector can not provided as much fuel as required to keep the oxygen sensors happy.

Reset the idle speed and computer by this procedure.

If not already eliminated as a possible source to your stalling, I would strongly suggest replacing your O2 sensors. I've had virtually the exact issues with my car a few months ago. I mean, like stopping at a red light in the middle of Chi-Town rush hour and having the car stall. When both O2 sensors R/R, no more stallings and frustrations.

Good news is I drove it around for about 2 days now and the KOEO codes are erased and havent come back. C/E still shows up after about 15 minutes of driving. I assume it's the o2's throwing them although I havent gotten that code during a KOER test. But I defientely don't have good gas MPG and the stalling is still there ever now and then. I'm going to replace the o2's and tune it up so I hope that fixes it.
