how hot can the sho run without damaging the engine? it sat for a month and i drove it over to my new place yesterday and i noticed it was running really hot, just above the "N" on the normal word. it never went outside the bracket that the word normal is in and it was only something like 6 or 7 miles i drove it... i guess i'm being paranoid i just hope this didnt damage something.

I've overheated mine a few times and experienced no sustained bad consequences...yet. Better look into why your fan isn't coming on:
1) CCRM/ICRM relay fault
2) Fan motor brushes spent
3) Thermo switch fault
4) ??

When I exploded my clutch (red lined 3rd...then banged into second) I brought the tach up past the eight for about three seconds. Extreme heat. In conjunction, my fan also burned out that night, hehe. The coolant wouldn't stop boiling for an hour. No noticable damage yet - about a year. I wouldn't sweat it.
