My 95 ATX with 75k on it has started really weird a couple times lately. I crack it over and it starts up ritoway but then idles like crap and will almost stall. Then I reved it up and it was staying at 2000. I tried checked the throttle body and it wasnt stuck or anything. This last time I shut it off took the neg off the battery cable for a couple minutes then started it and it ran mint. I recently changed the plugs and the wells were BONE dry front and back. Anyone know why this is, is my computer shot or????

It's already been touched upon, but first try the idle reset procedure. If that doesn't work, it sounds like the idle air control valve is not doing its job and either needs a good cleaning or replacement.

What plugs did you install? If they are not the Motorcraft AGSP32PP plugs gapped to .042"-.046", that could also be a problem. If the plugs are correct, you may need to check the plug wire boots to make sure they are fully seated on the plugs.

I have noticed that when i startup from a cold start, the revs shoot up to 2200 then they drop right down to 900 and sounds like it's almost going to stall and then it goes back up to 1600 and slowly comes down as it warms up. We have 3 SHOs in the family and all of them do it.
